Juan Ramirez - 11v11 & 9v9 Coach
I have played soccer for 35 plus years at amateur, collegiate and semipro levels. I am a USSF C Licensed coach and have been involved in developing youth and adult soccer players for 25 plus years. While recognizing the importance of “winning”, I strive to teach my players the importance of doing their best applying their skills and trying their hardest. A player’s development is paramount. The primary focus is player’s efforts rather than game results. Winning or losing is only the outcome of such efforts.
What are your goals as a coach?
1. Player’s long term physical and mental welfare and skill development.
2. Character development. Victory and defeat are sizeable teaching moments to build
character and self-confidence.
3. Honor the game. Learn to love the game and the discipline required that comes with it.
Share the love and joy with others.
4. Competition. Respect the opponents; a worthy opponent will force a team to do their
best.
5. Strive for excellence in academics, athletics, and life itself.
Why you are excited to be part of the new Rush program?
After researching the club and finding out about their goals and plans, it's exciting to have the opportunity to join a club that aligns with my coaching philosophy and is truly interested in developing the next generation of players. I am looking forward to being part of the club's success.
What is one quote that you find valuable, true or inspiring to your approach to life and sport?
